The Noreia String Quartet consists of four young women* who studied at the Gustav Mahler Private University in Klagenfurt and at the MUK – Music and Art Private University of the City of Vienna, Austria and have been making music together as a quartet for three years now.
In their work, they have dedicated themselves to creating unusual and time-relevant concert concepts, as they share an interest in unearthing hidden treasures and bringing them to the stage. Through a diverse and lively program, collaboration with other cultural fields, and experimentation with the audience situation, the Noreia String Quartet likes to reach beyond the sometimes overly strict boundaries of a classical concert setting.
The Noreia String Quartet celebrated its first success in 2022 by winning the first prize of the ARTEDEA chamber music competition. In the same year, the string quartet received a working scholarship from the state of Carinthia and qualified for the semi-finals of the Petrichord International Chamber Music Competition.
